The knife gate valve is a uni-directional wafer valve for general industrial application.
The nominal diameter available range from DN50 to DN600 with Lugged flange connections complying with EN 1092-1 PN10/PN16 or alternatively, ANSI B16.5.
The knife gate valve is predominantly used in the paper and pulp, chemical, and mining industries, andthe food industry as well as sewage treatment plants, and in the sugar, steel and animal feed sectors.
Drive actuators offered for the knife gate valve include handwheel with rising or non-rising stem, or alternatively double-or single-acting pneumatic cylinders (spring return), Bevel Gear, chain gear and electric actuators.
The structure of the uni-directional knife gate valves is a wafer style cast monoblock body, with raised face and reinforced ribs for larger nominal diameters for extra body strength.
The monoblock body of the knife gate valves is available in either WCB or alternatively in stainless steel CF8M/CF8/CF3/CF3M.
The slide plate of the knife gate valves is using stainless steel AISI 304,201,301,304L, 316L or AISI 316 or else. The plate radius of the knife gate valves slide gate has a bevelled cutting edge. As a result, solids can be cut through, achieving a tight seal in the closed position. On request, the thickness of the knife gate valves plate can be increased for higher operating pressures and/or higher quality material can be used.
The slide plate's seat in the monoblock body is sealed tight by an elastomer seal in Body groove or Metal to metal sealing.
The standard material used for the knife gate valves elastomer seal is EPDM/ NBRor Metal seat
Alternatively, nitrile, viton, PTFE or else are available.
The gland packing consists of several layers of braided fibre.
